Anonymous GHB Date Rape Drug Allegations Testimonies

Date Rape Drug GHB
Gender: Female

I was drugged with GHB and raped by somebody at my school when I was 16. I was really depressed at the time due to other things and when he said he'd organised a night out with other friends (even though I didn't know him that well) I said I would go to try and get out the house. I was 16 so obviously going to a club wasn't legal but he said he would sort that out.

When we got to the club he said 'the friends cancelled' so it was just us and 3 other friends of his (who he'd only met once and one of them was the drug dealer). It was a 21 and over club and he bribed the bouncer to get us in. After only 2 drinks my memory starts to go hazy and I have only 3 memories. One of them was him throwing me on the bed (in his house) and trying to penetrate me but I managed to kick him off.

Then I remember him pushing my head onto his penis forcing me to give him head even though I was hardly conscious and was drugged at this point. I then woke up the next day with him on top of me and I said 'please stop it hurts' and he said no and continued to penetrate me and I froze. I had a really bad rash all over my face the next morning which then turned out to be one of the side effects to the date rape drug.

5 years on and I am in therapy for PTSD, an eating disorder and anxiety. I fear I'll see him as I have friends who still see him (which angers me) but there not much I can do about it, although it just cements this fucked up culture of rape being accepted. I spoke to a lawyer and she said I had a case but it would take at least 2 years to get into court but also the chances of him being sentenced were very low.

I may do it one day but I still feel slightly guilty about ruining someone's life even though he ruined mine for those years that followed. My therapy has been very difficult as expected but it definitely has been a huge help so I really recommend anyone struggling with the same to reach out because it has made me realise that we are worth more than this and we will NOT let them win. You have won by speaking out about it and realising that you did NOTHING wrong.
